While in college, Patrick Jackson, GNI’s first employee, was trying to find a way to kill crabgrass without chemicals. Experimenting first with lasers, microwave, steam, and other techniques that were in the literature, he found them insufficient. By innovating with dual wavelength, non-laser directed energy, he found a way! GNI achieved multiple SBIR awards from Edwards AFB, USDA and Ellsworth AFB. Now the company perfected the innovation and matched with enthusiasm from the ag community and private investments. GNI is commercializing novel weed control and seed priming solutions.
